Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between C-reactive protein and severity of coronary artery disease. Methods 43 patients diagnosed with CHD by coronary angiography,20 patients with stable angina,23 with unstable angina. There were 20 normal controls who underwent coronary angiography and proved to exclude CHD.The serum CRP of CHD and control group was determined. The severity scale of coronary artery stenosis was assessed by Gensini score. Results The serum CRP concentrations were elevated in turn in the normal control group and the stable angina group, the unstable angina group. There were significant varieties between each other. The serum CRP concentrations were correlated positively with Gensini score. Conclusions The level of CRP is elevated in patients with coronary artery disease.CRP reflects the stability and severity of coronary artery disease.
