Abstract

Objective To investigate the significance of the detection of seminal PMN-elastase,fructose,neutral a-glucosidase in the etiopathogenisis of obstructive azoospermia. Methods Seminal plasma of PMN-elastase,fructose,neutral a-glucosidase of 672 cases of azoospermia were detected. In combination with history, physical examination, semen routine, transrectal ultrasonography and testicular biopsy, the causes of azoospermia were analyzed. Results There were 262 cases of obstructive azoospermia.Among them, there were 67 cases of bilateral absence of vas deferens or seminal vesicle,28 cases of dysplasia of vas deferens,7 cases of ejaculatory duct obstruction,145 cases of epididymal obstruction,9 cases of obstruction of vas deferens,6 cases of obstruction above epididymidis caput. Conclusion Seminal plasma biochemical detection is non-invasive,rapid and helpful to find etiology and guide treatment in etiological diagnosis of obstructive azoospermia.
