Abstract
Objective By way of assay of seminal routine, accessory gentital glands markers about normal donors and 35 patients with azoospermia, to explore the alteration of the accessory gential gland of the patients suffering from the azoospermia. Methods The relevant parameters of semen from 32 normal donors and 35 patients with azoospermia were measured by analysis of seminal routine and accessory gentital glands markers. Results The enzyme activity of neutral α-1, 4-glucosidase in the sample with azoospermia significantly declined as compared to the control. There was a significant positive relationship between the semen volume and the concentration of fructose and the enzyme activity of acid phosphatase in seminal plasma for the azoospermia (r=0.422, P0.01; r=0.410, P0.02). Conclusions The patients with azoospermia have the abnormal function of epididymis as well as the absence of spermatogenesis.
