Abstract

[Objective]To understand the status of knowledge,attitude and behavior related to AIDS among the urban and rural residents in Longyan city,and to provide evidence for health education and AIDS prevention.[Methods]313 residents aged from 18 to 60 years old were interviewed.[Results]The average awareness rate about AIDS was 67.54%.That among urban residents was 74.36%,and among rural residents was 58.20%,there was significant difference between urban and rural residents(P0.01).52.08% of the urban and rural residents expressed that people living HIV and AIDS should have the right to study or work.That among urban residents was 60.02%,and among rural residents was 40.91%,there was significant difference between urban and rural residents(P0.01).About 14.19% of the urban and rural residents used condoms each time in the last three times.That among urban residents was 17.37%,and among rural residents was 9.84%(P0.05).[Conclusion]The urban and rural residents in Longyan city have relatively common awareness of HIV/AIDS,they are still a weak population for HIV prevention and control.
