The effect of insulin sensitivity with Telmisartan in patients with essential hypertension

Objective Discussion the effect of insulin sensitivity with Telmisartan in patients with essentlal hypertension. Methods 60 cases of essential hypertension and surgar-balance damaged were randomly divided into test and control groups. Contral group used conventional treatment with captopril,and test group used Telmisartan 40-80mg qd . After 12 weeks treatment,two groups changes of systolic blood pressure(SBP) ,diastolic blood pressure(DBP) ,fasting blood glucose(FBG) ,2 hours postprandial blood glucose(2hBG) ,fasting blood insulin(FINS) ,postprandial blood insulin(PINS) ,insulin sensitive index(ISI) ,insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) ,triglyceride(TG) ,total cholesterol(TC) ,high-dencity lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) were compared. Results:After 12 weeks treatment,test group FBG、2hBG、FINS、PINS、HOMA-IR were significantly decreased,and ISI was significantly increased,but triglyceride(TG) was significantly decreased . Compared with the control group,there were significant differences,Also SBP and DBP level were significantly decreased and there were significant differences compared with the level before the treatment,but compared with control group after the treatment there were no significantly differences . Conclusions:Telmisartan was used in patitents with essential hypertension and surgar-balance damaged on insulin sensitivity act as enhanced role . Telmisartan is superior to captopril in improving insalin resistance with hypertensive patients and decreasing the level of TG .
