Abstract

Objective: To investigate the relationship between plasma homocysteine(Hcy) levels and cerebral infarction in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods:240 people are divided into four groups: 60 cases of cerebral infarction in patients with type 2 diabetes(group A),simultaneous 60 cases of non-diabetic patients with cerebral infarction(group B),60 type 2 diabetes patients without cerebral infarction(Group C),and 60 healthy volunteers(group D).Determinations were examined by enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay(ELSIA),and systematical analysis was made on the statistics of TC,LDL-C,HDLC,and TG.Results:Hcy of Group A is higher than Group B,C and D,showing a significant difference(P0.05),Hcy of Group B is higher than Group C and D,with a significant difference(P0.05).Hcy of Group C is higher than Group D(P0.05).Conclusion:Hcy in the pathogenesis of diabetic cerebral infarction plays a synergistic effect;therefore,it is an important risk factor for diabetes complicated with cerebral infarction.
