Analysis of heart rate variability in patients with coronary heart disease

Abstract

Objective To understand the characterics of heart rate variability (HRV) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and to study the clinical significance of autonomic nerve changes of CHD.Methods The time domain parameters of HRV were detected in 93 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD group) and 49 healthy controls (healthy control group).The results were compared and analyzed (P0.01).Results The 24 h HRV level in CHD group was significantly lower than that in healthy control group (P0.01).The difference was statistically significant.Conclusion Decreased level of HRV is an indicator of cardiovascular autonomic nervous system impairment in patients with CHD.
