Abstract

Objective To understand the characterizes of heart rate variability(HRV) in old patients with coronary heart disease(CHD) and study the clinical significance of autonomic nerve changes in the patients. Methods The time and frequency domain parameters of 24 h HRV were detected in 92 patients with CHD(CHD group) and 50 healthy controls(NC group). The results were compared and analyzed. Results 24 h HRV level in CHD group was significantly lower than that in NC group. The difference was statistically significant(P0.01).Conclusion Decreased level of HRV is an indicator of cardiovascular autonomic nervous system impairment in patients with CHD.
