Abstract
Objective:HRV analysis is a noninvasive index of assessing autonomic nervous system control of cardiac function.The aim of the present study was to investigate the alterations of HRV in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods:The population involved in the study included 40 patients with CHD and 24 age-matched controls with no evidence of heart disease.HRV was assessed by calculation of indices based on statistical operation on RR intervals (time domain analysis) Results:As a result of the study it was found that in patients with CHD, SDNN and HRV triangle index were reduced significantly than that in healthy persons.HRV indices showed obvious circadian variation in both groups.Conclusion:Reduction of HRV in patients with CHD suggests that they have an imbalance of autonomic control over heart,and they have a higher risk for cardiac sudden death thereby.
