Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical effects of magnetic attachment on removable partial denture. Methods: Twenty-five cases were restored by removable partial denture with magnetic attachment. After the examination of the function of the dentures, oral tissue, X-ray, the satisfaction to the dentures was evaluated. Results: All patients were followed up for 1 to 4 years. 20 patients were satisfied with the dentures in esthetic, retention, masticatory function and health status of periodontium. 5 patients were found to have gingivitis and alveolar bone absorption. Conclusion: Magnetic attachment removable partial denture is an esthetical, economical restoration which can maintain retention and protect abutments.
