Abstract

Objective To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria detected from intensive care units(ICU) in the hospital. Methods A total of 402 samples from ICU in the hospital since Oct 2010 to Dec 2012 were collected, and the distribution and drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria were identified. Results In 402 strains of pathogenic bacteria, the composition ratio of gram-negative bacteria is significantly higher than that of gram-positive bacteria. The most common form of gram-negative bacilli were acinetobacter baumannii(24.9%),klebsiella pneumoniae(16.7%),e.coli(9.7%),pseudomonas aeruginosa(7.0%),eosinophilic malt narrow food pseudomonas(6.2%),sewers e.coli(2.5%) among the isolates;while gram-positive cocci were in the majority with staphylococcus and enterococcus genera. Most pathogens had high resistance or multiple drug resistance to commonly used antimicrobial agents.Acinetobacter baumannii and pseudomonas aeruginosa, which belong to gram-negative bacilli, with the resistant rate against imiperem or meropenem achieved 40.0%;while enterococcus,in gram-positive cocci, its vancomycin resistant rate was up to 16.7%.Conclusion The most pathogenic bacteria isolated from ICU are gram-negative bacteria whose drug resistance situation is serious.Monitoring the change in pathogen and the trends of antimicrobial is very important for guiding the clinical administration of drugs.
