Abstract
OBJECTIVE To know the distribution and drug resistance of the pathogenic bacteria in the intensive care unit(ICU).METHODS Using the prospective study method,we targeted the patients who entered the ICU during year 2007 by applying the objective monitoring method, urging the related departments the delivery of the bacteria for examination. We registered the results of the delivered samples and test the drug sensitivity of the pathogenic bacteria by applying slip method and MIC method. We used WHONET5.4 to analyze strains.RESULTS In total we isolated 189 pathogenic strains, among which 104(55.03%) were Gram-negative bacteria,67(35.45%) Gram-positive bacteria and 18(9.52%) were fungi. The top five pathogenic bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus,Klebsiella,Enterococcus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii. They respectively occupied 21.16%,12.16%,11.64%,9.52% and 8.99%.The relevance ratio of meticillin-resistant S.aureus was 67.5%,no vancomycin-resistant S.aureus or Enterococcus has been detected out.The drug resistance rate to teicoplanin of S.aureus was 5.56%,however,Enterococcus showed no drug resistance to teicoplanin. The drug resistance rate of Gram-negative bacteria to various antibacterials was higher than 70%,indicating severe multidrug resistance.CONCLUSIONS The main pathogenic bacteria in the hospital ICU are Enterobacter and S.aureus.The drug resistance of pathogenic bacteria is serious.
