Observations on the Efficacy of Antagonistic Muscle Acupuncture plus Rehabilitation Training in Treating Post-stroke Spastic Hemiplegia

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of antagonistic muscle acupuncture plus rehabilitation training in treating post-stroke spastic hemiplegia.Methods Eighty patients with post-stroke spastic hemiplegia were allocated,using a random table of Doll's clinical cases,to treatment and control groups,38 cases each.In addition to routine Western medical treatment and rehabilitation training,the treatment group received antagonistic muscle acupuncture and the control group,conventional acupuncture.The Modified Ashworth Scale score,the Fugl-Meyer Assessment score and the Barthel Index score were counted before and after treatment.A comparative analysis was made after two courses of treatment.Results There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in the Modified Ashworth Scale score,the Fugl-Meyer Assessment score and the Barthel Index score in the two groups(P0.01).There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in the Modified Ashworth Scale score,the Fugl-Meyer Assessment score and the Barthel Index score between the treatment and control groups(P0.01,P0.05).Conclusion Antagonistic muscle acupuncture plus rehabilitation training is an effective way to treat post-stroke spastic hemiplegia.
