Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical influence of retention catheterization and intermittent catheterization on urinary tract infection in patients with spinal cord injury. Methods Eighty-two patients with spinal cord injury were randomly divided into experimental group(n=42) and control group(n=40).The control group was given the treatment of retention catheterization, and the experimental group was given the treatment of intermittent catheterization. Results After one month, the infection rate of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P0.05),and the urine dynamics of the experimental group was significantly superior to the control group. Conclusion In spite of some drawbacks of intermittent catheterization,it can significantly reduce the infection rate and improve the life quality of patients, and therefore,it is worthy of consideration and choice.
