ANALYSIS ON THE LOW VISUAL ACUITY AFTER SMALL INCISION CATARACT SURGERY

[Objective] To analyze the reason of low visual acuity after cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation through small incision. [Methods] According to the national diagnostic standard of low visual acuity, 40 cases (45 eyes) with the best corrected visual acuities lower than 0.3 three months after operation were selected from 393 cases (420 eyes) of the small incision cataract surgery, so that to analyze the reason of low visual acuity. [Results] The main causes of low visual acuity included ocular fundus diseases and other system diseases before operation (34 eyes) and postoperative complications (11 eyes) which included corneal edema and decompensation (5 eyes), uveitis (4 eyes) and after-cataract (2 eyes). [Conclusion] It is necessary to pay close attention to low visual acuity, careful operation, detailed conversation with the low visual acuity before operation, so as to reduce and prevent medical tangle.
