Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy on post-stroke depression treated with acupuncture and psychological intervention. Methods Ninety cases of post-stroke depression were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,45 cases in each one.In the treatment group, the combined therapy of acupuncture and psychological intervention was used.In the control group,Fluoxetine Hydrochloride Capsules were prescribed for oral administration.HAMD and CSS were adopted to assess the clinical efficacy of the two groups in 6 weeks of treatment. Results In the treatment group,22 cases were cured,13 cases remarkably effective,8 cases effective and 2 cases failed;the total effective rate was 95.56%.In the control group,17 cases were cured,7 cases remarkably effective,12 cases effective and 9 cases failed;the total effective rate was 80.00%.The differences were significant in comparison of the two groups(P 0.05).The improvement of HAMD and CSS scores for the patients in the treatment group were superior significantly to that in the control group(all P 0.01).Conclusion The combined therapy of acupuncture and psychological intervention achieves the definite, safe and reliable efficacy on post-stroke depression. It is advantageous in clinical practice.
