Abstract
Objective To understand the status of smoking behavior among several occupational staff,and to provide scientific basis for developing tobacco control measures.Methods Officials,teachers,and doctors were randomly selected to undergo an face-to-face survey.Results 1168 persons were investigated.The average smoking rate of the participants was 26.1%,and the passive smoking rate was 49.9%.Male average smoking rate(45.2%) was significantly higher than that of female(1.6%).Male officials' smoking rate(56.3%) was significantly higher than those of male teachers(38.2%) and male doctors(41.9%,P0.01).Conclusion There were differences in smoking rates of different occupational staff.Any intervention measures should be taken according to the occupation characteristics.The propaganda on the harms of both smoking and passive smoking should be strengthened to reduce the smoking rate and enhance the awareness of tobacco control.
