Abstract
Objectvie To investigate smoking,passive smoking,knowledge and attitude on smoking-ban among Jiangsu adults in some public places.Methods Convenience sampling and face-to-face questionnaire was used to interview adults no less than 18 years old in 4 kinds of public places.Results The prevalence of smoking and current smoking were 32.7%and 29.2%respectively,and male had significantly higher prevalence than female did.The prevalence of passive smoking was 52.9% with no gender difference.The rate of quit-smoking was 10.0%,with a higher rate in female than in male.Total correct proportion of related knowledge was 53.2%,with the highest in'smoking or second-hand smoking harm to health',and the lowest in'passive smoking related to cardiovascular diseases'.The proportion of supporting total smoking-ban in all public places was 23.6%,with the highest in hospital,school and transportation,and the lowest in restaurant and bar.Smoking was negatively related to total correct knowledge and supportive attitude on total smoking-ban(OR=0.57,95%CI:0.39~0.79;OR=0.42,95%CI:0.27~0.65,respectively),after adjustment of gender,age,education and marriage,analyzed by non-conditional logistic regression.Passive smoking was just negative related to supportive attitude on total ratio smoking-ban(OR=0.61,95%CI:0.43~0.86).Conclusion Advertise on the knowledge of smoking should be reinforced,and strategies should be taken to prevent people from passive smoking.
