Research and development of performance-based seismic design theory and method

Research and development of perfonnance-based seismic design theory and method are task paid extensive attention by international academia and engineers at present.This paper re- views international research and development status of this desing theory and method in four as- pects: performance-based design theoretic framework, earthquake design level, structural seismic performance level and structural seismic deisgn method, .and some noticeable problems are put forward.
