Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the value of magnetic resonance urography(MRU) in the diagnosis of pelvis and ureter congenital diseases.Method:The MRU and clinical data of 11 cases of pelvis and ureter congenital diseases were retrospectively studied.Result:In 11 cases with pelvis and ureter congenital diseases, including congenital stricture in ureteropelvic junction(3), retrocaval ureter(3), megaloureter(2), complete duplication of pelvis and ureter with ectopic orifice(3). MRU provided high resolution images of the pelvis and ureter tract in all patients. MRU was successful in localizing of obstruction in all of the 11 cases(100%).Conclusion:MRU is a safe、highly efficient and noninvasive method for detecting disorders of pelvis and ureter congenital diseases, especially for patients who had contraindication of IVU examination or had dilated urinary system with poor excretory function.
