Abstract

Objective To explore the changes of serum homocysteine(Hcy) and C-reactive protein(CRP) and their clinical values in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) and complications. Methods Sixty-eight patients with T2DM were divided into simple T2DM group(n=32) and T2DM combined complications group(n=36).30 healthy volunteers were served as normal control group.Serum Hcy and CRP were determined and compared among the groups. Results The levels of serum Hcy and CRP in T2DM combined complications group were higher than those in simply T2DM group and normal control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.01). Conclusions The levels of serum Hcy and CRP in T2DM combined complications group are significantly increased, and the combined detection is conducive to judging the severity of the disease and providing the reference for clinical treatment and prognosis estimation.
