Abstract

Objective To study the risk factors for coronary heart disease(CHD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM).Methods One hundred and fifty type 2 DM patients were divided into simple type 2 DM group(group A,n=82)and type 2 DM accompanying CHD group(group B,n=68),60 healthy subjects served as a control group in this study.Their serum levels of homocysteine(Hcy),high sensitivity C-reactive protein(CRP) and D-dimer were measured, and their fibrinogen, prothrombin time and activated partial thrombin time were recorded. Results The serum levels of Hcy,high sensitivity CRP and D-dimer were significantly higher in groups A and B than in control group and in group B than in group A(P0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that Hcy,high sensitivity CRP and D-dimer were the risk factors for CHD.No significant difference was found in prothrombin time, activated partial thrombin time and fibrinogen among the 3 groups(P0.05).Conclusion Hcy,high sensitivity CRP and D-dimer are the risk factors for CHD in type 2 DM patients.
