Abstract

Objective: To find out the values of homocysteine(Hcy) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP) in the diagnosis of type two diabetes mellitus(T2DM) complicated with cerebral infarction(CI). Methods:All 38 patients suffering from T2 DM complicated with CI, 50 cases with T2 DM only and 50 cases as the control group were selected, the contents of Hcy, Hs-CRP and superoxide dismutase(SOD) in the serum were detected respectively. Results: The levels of Hcy and Hs-CRP in T2 DM group and the complication group were higher than these of the control group, the difference demonostrated statistical meaning(P0.05), the difference showed statistical meaning in the levels of Hcy and Hs-CRP between the complication group and T2 DM group(P0.05). Correlation analysis reflected that the level of Hcy was closely related to the level of Hs-CRP in the complication group(r=0.511, P0.05), it demonstrated negative correlation to the level of SOD(r=-0.672, P0.05). Conclusion: Detection of Hcy and Hs-CRP of the patients suffering from T2 DM could predict and diagnose T2 DM complicated with CI at early stage.
