Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression characteristics of FHIT protein in bladder transitional cell carcinomas(TCC)and its relationship with clinicopathological parameters. Methods The expression of FHIT was studied by S-P immunohistochemisty in 10 cases of normal urinary bladder tissues and 62 cases of TCC.Results The positive rate of FHIT protein expression in normal urinary bladder tissues was 100%,the positive rate of FHIT protein expression in TCC was 46.77%(29/62),the expression of FHIT protein decreased with the increase of malignant degree, and had marked statistical significance(P0.05),the difference of positive rate between Tis~T1 and T2~T4 cases showed a trend of decrease, but there was no statistically significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion FHIT gene is related to occurrence and development of the bladder TCC.It could be regarded as a new useful diagnostic marker in the bladder TCC.
