Abstract
Objective To investigate the express and clinical significance of fragile histidine triad(FHIT) in bladder transitional cell carcinoma. Methods The expression of FHIT was studied by S-P immunohistochemisty in 20 cases of non-tumor tissues and 60 bladder transitional cell tumors, patients with which had not been treated by chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy before surgery. Results The expression of FHIT protein in tumor tissues were higher than that in non-tumor tissues and showed statistical significance(P0.05);the expression of FHIT protein in different grade bladder transitional cell tumors had marked statistical significance(P0.01).Though the clinical stage showed different immunoactivities for FHIT protein, and the present of FHIT decreased with the high stage, they had no statistical significance. Conclusion FHIT is related with occurrence and development of bladder transitional cell carcinoma. It can be regarded as a new useful prognosis index in clinical monitoring.
