On the construction of the characteristic economy system in the western regions of China

By applying the theories of regional economics and industrial economics,based on a profound research of the connotation and features of the characteristic economy in the western regions of China,this paper put forward a basic and systematic construction pattern for the economic development in the western regions.The construction of characteristic economy in the western regions should based on its characteristic resources,focused on its characteristic products,with its characteristic industries as locomotive and its characteristic technologies as support so as to improve the over-all economic development in the regions.The construction of the pattern is not only theoretically but also practically significant for a sustainable development of the human and environmental resources in the western regions of China.
