Effect of initial Drug Resistance of Mycobacterium Tuberculosis on the Chemotheraty of Tuberculosis

Objective To investigate the effect of mycobacterium tuberculosis initial resistance on the chemotheraty of pulmonary tuberculosis.Methods The patients of mycobacterium tuberculosis,treatde without durgs or with those drugs but not beyond one month,and with drug sensibilities test,follow-up,and completely recordedf data in out-patient dipartment in 4 years from January 2001 to Decenber 2005 in our hospital,were divided into two groups:drug rsesitant group(134 casis) and drug-sensitive group(162 cases).Two groups were compared.Results The sputum culture conversion rate of the former was 77.6%,the rate of the latter was 96.9%.The bacteriological relapse rate of converted cases during 2 year follow-up was 10.8%,3.5% respectively,The sputum culture conversion rate of one drug resistance was 89.1%,the rate of two drugs resistance was 72.7%,and the rate of three drugs resistance was 54.5%.Conclusion The initial drug resistance,especially multiple drug resistance was the main reason of the chemogherapy failure.
