Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of tiotropium bromide inhalation with salmeterol/fluticasone in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) by the lung function and CAT scores. Methods Forty-eight COPD patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.Treatment group received the combination therapy of tiotropium 18 μg once daily,salmeterol/fluticasone(50 g/250 g) twice daily. The control group received the combination therapy of salmeterol/fluticasone(50 g/250 g) twice daily. These patients were measured by lung function and CAT scores before and after treatment. Results Compared to baseline, the CAT scores of both groups were reduced significantly, and the treatment group was more obviously decreased(t=2.689,P0.05) ;for both groups, the improvements in lung fuction were similar, the combination therapy of tiotropium with salmeterol/fluticasone produced further improvements in FVC,FEV 1,FEV 1 %(t value was 2.894,4.366,3.156,respectively,all P 0.05).CAT scores was negatively correlated with FEV 1 % before and after the treatment(Spearman correlation coefficient r s value was-0.694,-0.631 in treatment group,and-0.618 and-0.745 in the control group, all P0.05).Conclusion The combination therapy of tiotropium with salmeterol/fluticasone can not only improve the lung function but also help for the motion endurance and improve life quality of stable COPD patients.
