Clinical observation of compound glycyrrhizin combined with levocetirizine dihydrochloride in treatment of chronic urticaria

Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effects of compound glycyrrhizin together with levocetirizine dihydrochloride for chronic urticaria.Methods 150 patients with chronic urticaria were randomized to divide into the treatment group and control group.Two groups all received levocetirizine dihydrochloride(5mg,once daily).Meanwhile,the treatment group received compound g lycyrrhizin(2 tablets 3 times daily).The efficiency was evaluated at the end of 4 week treatment.Results There was a significant difference for the clinical effectiveness of treatment between treatment group and control group(χ2=7.55,P=0.006).Conclusion Compound glycyrrhizin combined with levocetirizine dihydrochloride in treatment of chronic urticaria is effective,safe and provide an alternative therapeutic method for clinicians.
