Abstract

Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficiency of the combined levocetirizine hydrochloride and ranitidine in the treatment of chronic urticaria, providing more therapeutic methods for chronic urticaria. Methods 70 cases of chronic urticaria were chosen. The patients were randomly divided into therapeutic and control group, each group had 35 patients respectively. The patients of the therapeutic group were treated with levocetirizine hydrochloride 5mg/day and ranitidine 300mg/day and the patients of the control group were only treated with levocetirizine hydrochloride 5mg/day.Two groups were treated continuously for 21 days. Results The effective rate of 91.4% was obtained in the therapeutic group. One of the patients in the control group withdrawed. The effective rate of 76.5% was obtained in 34 patients who received treatment. The difference between 2 groups is significant(χ2=7.223,P0.01).Conclusion Combined levocetirizine hydrochloride and ranitidine is better than only use of levocetirizine hydrochloride in the treatment of chronic urticaria.
