RESEARCH ON THE GERMICIDAL EFFICACY AND TOXICITY OF A NEW TYPE OF GUANIDINES DISINFECTANT

Abstract

Objective To observe the germicidal efficacy and other disinfection properties of a new type of guanidines disinfectant.Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal test and animal experiment were used to carry out experimental research on the germicidal efficacy and toxicity of this guanidines disinfectant.Results The average killing logarithm values of Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa exposed to disinfectant containing poly-[2-(2-ethoxyl)-ethoxylethyl ester]guanidine 6 000 mg/L for 2.5 min were5.00;the average killing logarithm value of artificial contaminated bacteria on fruit and vegetables soaked in disinfectant with the same content for 10 min was 3.79.The mouse acute oral LD50 of this disinfectant was 5 000 mg/kg bw and this solution had no irritation to the intact animal skin.Conclusion This guanidines disinfectant has good germicidal efficacy on bacteria vegetative and good stability.It has no irritation to animal skin and no toxicity.
