Abstract

Objective To study the difference of efficacy of fluoxetine in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).Methods A total of 5 comparative studies of fluoxetine and other antidepressants in the treatment of OCD were analyzed by meta-ananlysis.Results Self-comparative study of fluoxetine before and after treatment showed that d=2.07,95% CI(1.77,2.36),χ2=13.7,P0.01.Comparison between fluoxetine and other antidepressants at 2nd weekend after treatment and at the end of trials showed that ymerge=0.31,95% CI(0.02,0.60),χ2=2.1,P0.05;ymerge=0.13,95% CI(﹣0.10,0.36),χ2=1.12,P0.05.Which revealed that there was no significant difference between fluoxetine and other antidepressants with respect to the clinical efficacy. However, fluoxetine had a rapid effect on symptoms. Conclusion Fluoxetine has a similar clinical effecacy compared with other antidepressants, with rapid treatment effect.
