Abstract
Objective To compare the efficacy and side effects between fluoxetine and clomipramine combined with clonazapine respectively in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD). Methods 60 patients with OCD who all were given clonazapine were divided in two groups-the fluoxetine group and the clomipramine group according to the usage of different drugs. Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale(Y-BOCS) and Treatment Emergent Scale(TESS)were used to evaluate the efficacy and the side effects. Results The efficacy of fluoxetine was similar to that of clomipramine. There was no significant difference between effective rates of these two groups (%P%0.05). And the side effects of fluoxetine were fewer and lighter than those of clomipramine (%P%0.05). Conclusion Both fluoxetine and clomipramine combined with clonazapine were effective in the treatment of OCD. Proper combined usage of clonazapine is beneficial to the patients. fluoxetine is better than clomipramine due to its fewer side effects.
