A Clinical Study of Fluoxetine Combined with Aripipraxole in Depression Patients

Abstract

[Objective]To study the efficacy of fluoxetine combined with aripipraxole for depression.[Methods]Seventy three inpatients and outpatients with depression were randomly assigned to fluoxetine group and fluoxetine combined with aripipraxole group for 8 weeks, efficacy and side reactions were evaluated with HAMD, CGI-SI and TESS before and after the treatment.[Results]Findings indicated that the efficacy of fluoxetine combined with aripiprazole was superior to the fluoxetine only, the former showed effect more quickly and its side effects were similar to the fluoxetine.[Conclusion]The results indicate that fluoxetine combined with aripipraxole was more effective in treatment of depression .
