Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes of levels of serum IL-18,IFN-γ and IL-10 in patients with condyloma acuminatum(CA)before and after treatment and its role in the immune pathogenesis of CA.Methods The serum levels of IL-18,IFN-γ and IL-10 were detected by solid sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)in 42 cases of CA before and after treatment for three months without recurrence respectively, compared with 35 normal human controls. Results The level of IFN-γ was significantly lower(P0.01)and the levels of IL-10 and IL-18 were significantly higher(P all0.01)than that in normal human controls before treatment. After the treatment for three months without recurrent, there was no significant difference compared with the normal human controls(all P0.05).After treatment, the level of IFN-γ was significantly higher than the level before treatment(P0.01),and the levels of IL-10 and IL-18 were significantly lower than the level before treatment(P all0.01).Conclusion The patients' cellular immunity were abnormal during the infection of human papilloma virus(HPV),and IL-18,IFN-γ and IL-10 may play an important role in the immune pathogenesis of CA.
