Effect of Losec on Treating Gastric and Duodenal Bulb Ulcer with Bleeding

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of losec on treating gastric and duodenal bulbar ulcer with bleeding.Methods 56 patients were randomly divided into two groups, the cure group(28 cases),which were given intravenous injection of losec 40 mg bid or qd for 3 days; the control group(28 cases),which were given whole blood transfusion 400～600 ml adding to cimetidine. The patients in two groups were given suitable hemostasis. During treatment period, the states of the patients were observed; further, the clinical symptom and condition of hemostasis were recorded everyday.Results The rate of hemostasis in cure group 88% was obviously higher than that of control group 83% (P0.05). The total rates of hemostasis during 5 days in two groups were similar (P0.05).Conclusions Both therapeutic regimens could can effectively cure gastric and duodenal bulbar ulcer with bleeding.However, the curative effect of losec group surpassed that of control group, without blood transfusion.
