A Comparative Study of Risperidone Combined with Mirtazapin and Paroxetine Respectively in Treatment of Negative Symptoms of Schizophrenia

Objective To compare the curative effects of risperidone combined with mirtazapin and paroxetine respectively in treating negative symptoms of schizophrenia.Methods A total of 80 patients with negative symptoms of schizophrenia were randomly divided as A group for which risperidone plus mirtazapin was given and B group for which risperidone plus paroxetine was given,with 40 in each.The treatment course was 12 weeks.The curative effects and side effects were evaluated with positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS)and treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS)before and after treatment.Results After treatment,between the two groups there was no significant difference in curative effect(P0.05);but there were significant differences in negative factor score,general psychopathological score and total score of PANSS(P0.05).There were significant differences in negative factor score,positive factor score and total score of PANSS in the patients of the two groups between before and after treatment(P0.01).There was no serious side effect for the patients of both groups.Conclusion Risperidone treatment combined with either mirtazapin or paroxetine is of better effect for negative symptoms of schizophrenia.
