The clinical application of Mesh Plug tension-free inguinal hernia repair

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of the Mesh Plug tension-free inguinal hernioplasty. Methods To analyze 162 cases of inguinal hernia treated by Mesh Plug tension-free hernia repair. the operation time,postoperative complications,post-operation recovery and recurrence rate were observed. Results The average operation time was 45 min,over 95% patients began to get out of bed in 8 to 12 hours after operation. the average hospital stay after operation was 4 days. The postoperative complications included urinary retention in 6 cases,scrotal hydrocele in 5 cases,incisional exudation in 1 case. All complications were cured after appropriate treatment. No one case appearred postoperative infection,no recurrence and foreign body sensation were found in the followed-up time from 2 to 3 years. Conclusions Mesh Plug tension-free hernioplasty is an effective surgical operation for inguinal hernia with simple procedure,quick recovery,low recurrence rate.
