Plug and Mesh Tension-Free Hernioplasty Treatment of 569 Cases for Inguinal Hernia

Objective: To summarize the therapeutic efficacy of plug and mesh tension-free hernioplasty in the treatment of inguinal hernia.Methods: The clinical data of 569 cases with inguinal hernia treated by plug and mesh tension-free hernioplasty from April,1999 to August,2008 were analyzed retrospectively.The operation time,postoperative wound pain,recovery of independence,hospitalized stay,postoperative complications,and recurrence rate were observed.Results: The plug and mesh hernia repair surgery had greater advantages than the traditional hernia repair surgery: easier surgical operation.It has less postoperative pain,quicker recovery,shorter hospital stay,fewer complications,lower recurrence,and wider surgical indications.Conclusion: Plug and mesh tension-free hernioplasty is an ideal surgical operation in the treatment of inguinal hernia.
