The Critical Input of Oriental and Western Culture of College English Teaching

College English education reform has been a heated discussion researching field of the society and the academic world.Traditional English teaching method has been practiced in China for many years,turning out a large group of talents fluent in English language with solid knowledge foundation.However,with the development of new technology and the coming of globalization era,especially the long-time strong momentum demonstrated by China's economic development,current Chinese college students can have easy access to more and more international information,whose horizons have been broadened and outlooks are experiencing changes at the same time,which poses a new challenge for college English education that how to adept our language teaching philosophy and method in accordance with the new changes of times to realize breakthrough in the area of English teaching and learning.Starting with discussing the relation between culture and language,the author analyzes the current international situation faced by China and argues the necessity of introduce western culture into college English class in a critical way.
