Proposals for Transformation of ET Practice in Huizhou University

Since 1978,English teaching has been practiced at colleges in China over 30 years.For a long-term closed country,getting into contact with foreign languages on a large scale can have a huge influence on people's thought pattern.The world we reside in has become a global village in the 21st century,and English has become an international language.Ideology decides the development of language and language also makes a great counteraction to ideology.Other than the teaching of grammar,English teaching means the cultivation of culture in a larger sense because human development is multi-dimensional.Our nation's language policy and strategies should be determined in light of the practice in classrooms.In this sense,it is of great significance that a practical reform on college English teaching should be carried out in Huizhou University.
