Treatment of congenital glaucoma with combined trabeculoctomy and small trabeculectomy

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effects of combined trabeculoctomy with small trabeculectomy for congenital glaucoma. Methods:14 patients(20 eyes)with congenital glaucoma were treated with combined trabeculotomy and Small trabeculectomy.The mean follow-up was 26.20±6.02 months. Results:The mean preoperative IOP was 32.50±7.32mmHg,the mean postoperative IOP was 14.60±4.32mmHg,the difference was significant(P0.01).The success rate was 95% (IOP21mmHg).There were functional blebs in 15 eyes,compared with pre-operation,horizontal corneal diameter and C/D ratio of all patients was no longer extended.The complications such as vitreous loss,flat chamber,posterior synchia,endophthalmitis were not observed. Conclusions:Combined trabeculoctomy and small trabeculectomy for congenital glaucoma is a safe and effective surgery.
