Combined surgery of tenonectomy, trabeculotomy and trabeculectomy for treatment of congenital glaucoma

Objective To investigate the effect of combined surgery of tenonectomy,trabeculotomy and trabeculectomy for treatment of congenital glaucoma.Methods Trabeculotomy and trabeculectomy combined with tenonectomy(excision of tenon's capsule)were performed on 56 cases(83 eyes)of congenital glaucoma.Results Average intraocular pressure(IOP)was reduced from(33.50±5.50)mmHg to (13.50±4.50)mmHg 1 week after operation(P＜0.05).The period of follow-up was 6-12 months.IOP were controlled in normal level along following up period.The most common complication was hyphema.which was found in 35 eyes and Was absorbed in 1-3 days after operation.Conclusions The combined surgery of tenonectomy,trabeculotomy and trabecdectomy for treatment of congenital glaneoma Was safe and efficient for treatment of congenital glaucoma.
