Abstract

Objective To study the feasibility of application of bispectral index(BIS) control in sevoflurane anesthesia in pediatric laparoscopic surgery. Methods Laparoscopic hernia repair had been performed in 80 children, they were equally divided into experimental group(group I) and control group(group II).Patients in group I maintained BIS value at 40-60 through the regulation of end-tidal sevoflurane concentration(ETsevo),and patients in group II were maintained with control Etsevo according to fluctuation of basic value ± 20% of blood pressure and heart rate.Hemodynamic changes,BIS value,ETsevo, extubation time and off-room time were recorded in patients of these two groups. Results The mean arterial pressure(MAP) and BIS value during anesthesia in group I were higher than those of group II(P0.05),but ETsevo was lower than that of group II(P0.05) in maintaining anesthesia.Extubation time and off-room time in group I were less than those of group II(P0.05).Conclusion The application of bispectral index control in sevoflurane anesthesia for pediatric laparoscopic surgery can reduce the dosage of sevoflurane and keep steady hemodynamics in children and improve the safety of anesthesia,so its application in laparoscopic surgery for children is safe and feasible.
