Clinical Observation of “Scalding Ointment” for Firearm Wound

To observe the clinical efficacy of “Scalding Ointment”,a herbal compound,in the treatment of firearm wound,227 cases were randomized into two groups:treatment group in which 115 cases were treated with “Scalding Ointment” and control group in which 112 cases were treated with gauze dressing with Gentamicin and 0.9% normal saline;and the clinical efficacy was respectively observed according to the scalding duration within 6 hours,6～12 hours and over 12 hours.Results:Within 6 hours,the clinical efficacy was similar in the two groups;between 6～12 hours and over 12 hours,the clinical efficacy was better in treatment group than in control group,P0.05;the healing time on average was 6.2 days and 7.5 days in the two groups.
