Analysis of Utilization of Antihypertensive Chinese Patent Medicine in Beijing Hospital of Ministry of Health During 2008-2011

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the clinical utilization of antihypertensive Chinese patent medicine in Beijing Hospital of Ministry of Health during 2008-2011 for clinical reference of rational use of antihypertensive drugs.METHODS:The antihypertensive Chinese patent medicine used in our hospital between 2008 and 2011 were analyzed statistically in respect of consumption sum and its constituent ratio,DDDs and distribution of drug use in different departments.RESULTS:The use of antihypertensive Chinese patent medicine in our hospital showed good continuity.The consumption sum its constituent ratio of various drugs were relatively stable,with the yin deficiency yang hyperactivities type and kidney-yang deficiency type dominating the first two places;low concentration ratio was noted for the use of antihypertensive Chinese patent medicine in clinical departments.CONCLUSION:Traditional Chinese medicine played an important role in the prevention treatment of hypertensive diseases.The categories of Chinese patent medicines in hospital should meet clincal demand meanwhile taking into consideration of patients'ability to shoulder economically and attaching great importance to rational drug use in an attempt to achieve safe,effective and economic clincal drug use.
