Analysis of Utilization of Chinese Patent Medicine in Shanghai Yangpu District Central Hospital During 2009-2011

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the status quo of the utilization of Chinese patent medicine in our hospital during 2009-2011 so as to promote rational drug use.METHODS:The utilization data of Chinese patent medicine during 2009-2011 retrieved from medical information platform were statistically analyzed using the method of ordering in consumption sum and frequency of drug use(DDDs).RESULTS:Both the consumption sum and the DDDs of Chinese patent medicine assumed a steady upward trend.CONCLUSION:The use of Chinese patent medicine in our hospital was basically rational and it took great share in clinical drug consumption because of its proved efficacy;however,there are some problems remains to be solved.
