Abstract

Objective To investigate the method of cataract extraction in eyes that had undergone glaucoma filtering surgery. Methods A total of 36 patients(42 eyes) with cataract who had undergone glaucoma filtering surgery were surgically treated by clear corneal incision, phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. The postoperative vision, intraocular pressure, anterior chamber depth, filtering bleb and complication were analysed. Results After operation, the visual acuity of all eyes was improved and all the intraocular pressures were under the control. The postoperative complication included corneal endothelial edema, iris injury, anterior uveal reaction and hyphema. Conclusion The phacoemulsification with clear corneal incision is safe and effective. It improves visual acuity and meanwhile maintains the function of filtering blebs
