Clinical Observation of Phacoemulsification with Intraocular Lens Implantation Through Corneal Incision

Abstract

Purpose To evaluate the effect of phacoemulsification with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation through corneal incision in eye after extra-filtering surgery.All eyes underwent glaucoma surgery 0.5~23 years ago. Methods Twenty-eight patients (34 eyes) with cataract after 1~3 times glaucoma surgery underwent phacoemulsification with IOL implantation through clear corneal. Results Following up for 6 to 30 months,the postoperative visual acute of all patients improved in different degree.All of eyes received IOL without complications such as posterior capsular rupture,intraocular hemorrhage and et al.Twelve eyes had corneal edema and anterior chamber reaction,which recovered after one week's therapy.There was no intraocular pressure increasing,wound rupture and iris insetting and et al. Conclusions The patients obtained perfect result and maintain the functional filtering blebs with minimal complication.The clear corneal phacoemulsification with IOL implantation is safe and effective in patients with cataract after glaucoma filtering surgery.
