Abstract
The effervescent disinfection tablet contains available chlorine as the germicidal component.In order to study its efficacy in killing microorganisms in water and its influencing factors,suspension quantitative germicidal test was used to carry out experimental observation.Results: The effervescent disinfection tablet containing available chlorine 1 mg/L with a 15 min contact time caused reduction of Escherichia coli in artificially contaminated water sample to 0 cfu/ml.The temperature,pH and organic substance had no obvious influence on its germicidal efficacy.Dissolving the effervescent disinfection tablet containing available chlorine 1 mg/L in water resulted in eligible disinfection of swimming pool water after contact for 30 min.The effervescent disinfection tablet dissolved in water containing available chlorine 30 mg/L with a contact time of 1 hr gave rise to eligible disinfection of hospital sewage.Conclusion: The effervescent disinfection tablet has good efficacy in killing E.coli in water and it is little influenced by organic substance.
